My name is Loki and I am the freak man.

Loki uses a variety of mediums in their work, with a focus on digital art, traditional Papercutting techniques, multimedia sculpture, and writing.

They consider themself a jack of all trades when it comes to mediums, getting their grubby mitts on any material they can to make their vision come to life. When people ask what they do, they often find it difficult to explain due to the range of their work;  "I'm a soul crafter, I don't know how else to word it. I take the empty and turn it into the Joyful."

     Sometimes Loki Alzhin calls themself  The Altruist when they feel like confusing people;

a noble title worn cynically like a paper crown on a king,

it is both true and untrue at the same time.

Duality.

Dualities are a running theme in Loki’s body of work, two impossibilities existing as one singularity. Death is not the opposite life, but rather death is the experience of living, just as life is the experience of dying. These are things people separate in their minds and label in opposition to each other. Loki seeks to explore those very same juxtapositions, not as opposites, but as a whole. Ouroboros is not just a head and a tail independent of one another.

 Loki’s work orbits around the relationship with one’s self, and the relationship with ones’ demons. ‘Demons’ being the manifestation of any life-altering experience or trauma.

 Demons are so often portrayed as something that takes hold of you and drags you down into the depths of hopelessness. A fear that takes root in your soul, a grief that lingers in your heart, an illness that changes your mindbody. Loki’s artistic representation of demons aims to deconstruct the idea that inner demons are something to get rid of or cure.

Loki seeks to acknowledge that yes, demons can impact your life in ways you can’t control– more often negatively than not– but that doesn’t negate the possibility of coexisting with your demons; learning from them, accepting them, and thriving with them by your side.

There is always hope, there is always joy, there is always love,

for some reason the last place we look is within ourselves.

"May the Gods Rain Confusion Upon our Enemies."
